What vaccines that are required?all pets receive the following vaccinations before entering our facility: - Rabies - Bordetella (a.k.a. Kennel Cough) - DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo and Parainfluenza) In addition to these vaccinations, we also recommend that pets receive flea and tick prevention as they will be spending time outside in our backyard. It is important to keep your pet up to date on these vaccinations to ensure their health and safety

What are your hours of operation?7 day a week 6am -9pm At Sweethearts Tails, we understand the busy schedules of pet owners, which is why we are open seven days a week for your convenience. Our hours of operation are from 6:00 am until 9:00 pm every day. Whether you need to drop off your furry friend before work or pick them up after a long day, we're here to accommodate you. Our drop off and pick up times are from 6 AM till 10 AM and from 3 PM till 9 PM. We understand that pet owners have busy schedules and may need to drop off or pick up their pets outside of these hours. If that is the case, please contact us to make arrangements and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

What to bring with my dog for daycare?We ask that you only bring a leash and a dog collar complete with name and address tags. Please do not bring toys as it can cause contention between other dogs. We provide plenty of play toys on site. If your dog has a particular comfort item, like a blanket, you can bring it and we will do our best to accommodate that.

What methods of payment do you accept?We do payment through our payment system Paw Partner as well e-transfers to sweetheartstails@gmail.com Please note that all payments are processed securely through our website. Are you insured for pets?Yes, Sweethearts Tails is fully insured for all pets in our care through Zensurance. Our insurance policy covers accidents, injuries, and any other unforeseen circumstances that may arise during your pet's stay with us. Do you have deals for multiple dogs?Unfortunately, at Sweethearts Tails, we do not offer any deals or discounts for multiple dogs. However, we do provide competitive pricing for all our services and strive to offer the best value for money. We believe in providing the highest quality care for each pet, and our prices reflect our commitment to ensuring that all pets receive the attention and care they all deserve.

How long have you been doing this?We began offering dog boarding services in 2016 but we have been in the animal care business for much longer, since 2009. Originally located in the GTA, our Barrie site in 2018 allowed us to expand to a larger outdoor space and accommodate more dogs.

Where are the dogs situated while in the house?Yes, dogs are welcome in all areas of our home, including on the furniture. However, we understand that some owners may have specific house rules regarding furniture, and we will always respect those rules. If your dog prefers to be in a crate, we have those available as well, but they are not required. At Sweethearts Tails, we want your furry friend to feel at home and comfortable during their stay with us.

Do you have any certifications?Yes, we do. At Sweethearts Tails, we take the safety and well-being of your pets very seriously. All our staff members are certified in Animal First Aid, Jessica is a certified Dog Trainer and she is also a member of the St. Johns Therapy Dog Unit.

Is your property fenced?The property is fully enclosed by a 5 foot solid wooden fence and 6 foot wooden gate. We also have a double style entrance chain link gate similar to a dog park to increase safety.

Do you take special needs dogs?Absolutely! We believe every dog deserves a loving and caring home way from home. We understand that some dogs require special attention and care, whether it's due to medication, special diets, or simply being in their golden years. That's why we are happy to accommodate dogs with special needs and make sure they receive the attention and care they require. If your furry friend requires medication, we make sure to administer it according to your instructions given . We also accommodate special diets for dogs with food allergies or sensitivities such as raw food. For elderly dogs who prefer a quieter environment, we have a separate area where they can relax and unwind without the company of other, higher energy dogs. note would you have 5 steps into the home. Our priority is to ensure that all pets in our care are happy, healthy, comfortable & safe. Just let us know about your dog's special needs when you make a reservation, and we will work with you to provide the best possible care for your furry friend.

Do you look after other pets (cats, ferrets, etc)?"At this point we do not accommodate other pets we are only accommodating dogs at this time

How do I make a booking?If you're a new client, you'll need to reach out via email to schedule a meet & greet/assessment. This meet and greet is required before booking in order to ensure the safety of your pet and to make sure we are a good fit for each other. Once the meet and greet is done and we both feel comfortable, the necessary forms will be filled out who are online booking system, Paw partner. It is preferred that you message us at least 24 hours before you need our services. Repeat schedules can be made through our online booking system - Paw Partner

Is there certain breeds we do not take?Unfortunately, we are currently not taking Huskies or Huskies mixes. We have found that our homestyle facility cannot meet the needs of highly escape prone dogs, and we have enacted this policy for their safety. However, there are other places that would be happy and capable of taking your dog. We recommend an indoor facility or something that has enclosed spaces Thank you for understanding and considering the safety of your beloved pet.

My dog isn't trained, can they still come?We are mostly concerned about good social behavior here, which is something we can determine at the meet and greet. We recognize puppies cannot be expected to be as well trained as adults and adults may all have different struggles. Recall from your pets is highly encouraged as well.

Will you groom my dog after daycare? or clip their nails?We do not do grooming, bathing or clipping at Sweethearts Tails. We are not set up to safely accommodate those services. Related; we operate in a home like environment and that means a yard subject to weather. We cannot promise your pet will remain clean after yard play. We will towel dry them if they come inside wet from the rain in the snow.
